Job Summary
Structured Cabling Technician responsible for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems for telecom networks, including fiber optics; perform preventive maintenance, testing with standard equipment, document configurations and network diagrams, manage cabling inventory, ensure compliance with codes and standards, and collaborate with clients and team while adhering to safety policies. Requires hands-on cabling experience (CAT5e/CAT6/CAT6A, fiber), testing tools (OTDR, cable testers, network analyzers), strong problem solving and communication skills, willingness to travel up to 50-90% of the time, and a high school diploma with relevant certifications preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certification or degree preferred
- Proficiency in installing and terminating CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, fiber optics
- Experience with testing and troubleshooting tools (cable testers, OTDR, network analyzers)
- Excellent communication skills; ability to work with clients and team
- Valid and clear driver’s license
- Minimum 2 years of experience in structured cabling or related field
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
