Job Summary
Structured Cabling Sales Representative responsible for securing profitable sales of structured cabling and voice/data projects and services by developing long-term relationships with multiple companies. Scope includes selling ongoing services and equipment across structured cabling/fiber optic cabling/TV distribution systems/wireless access point deployments and other integrated systems. Responsibilities include building consultative client relationships, following up on leads, presenting and selling products/services to clients, generating cost-estimate proposals for retrofit and new construction, participating in pre-bid/pre-construction/post-project meetings, identifying local and multi-location companies within a geographic territory, developing relationships with key decision-makers, delivering oral and written presentations, assisting with bid specifications, collaborating with Design to prepare detailed proposals and contracts, preparing pricing estimates and BOMs, negotiating and closing contracts, and assisting installation, service, and billing teams. Qualifications emphasize 2-5 years of outside sales experience in voice/data/structured cabling, B2B sales, ability to read blueprints, strong communication and proposal-writing skills, Salesforce experience preferred, and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in management, marketing, or sales. Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years proven sales industry experience in voice/data, structured cabling design, install and/or project management
- Experience with sales in the construction industry
- Business to business outside sales experience
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with a concentration in management, marketing, or sales
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints (floor plans, riser diagrams) and other technical information
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Outlook, and PC skills; CRM usage (Salesforce preferred)
- Self-starter; team-oriented; able to write proposals and negotiate contracts
- End-user focused sales experience beneficial
