Structural Welder 2nd Shift

Job Summary
Independently perform moderate to complex welding activities, including hand welding and material handling, while fitting and welding metal components to ensure proper alignment and secure joints. Determine steel type and gauge for appropriate heat adjustments, interpret blueprints and design sketches for correct dimensions, and maintain ISO standards during mass spec and visual inspections. Update required documentation, assume responsibility for assigned tools and equipment, and uphold clean work area standards with proper hazardous waste disposal. Perform other duties as assigned, such as mixing paint or insulating tanks. Requires minimum three years TIG welding experience, passing 3G weld tests, and familiarity with ISO procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years TIG welding experience
- Must pass 3G weld test and other weld tests including square butt, fillet, and groove joints depending on specific job requirements
- Experience interpreting blueprints and bill of materials (BOM)
- Basic math skills (weight measurement, volume, distance, multiplication and division)
- Attention to detail essential
- Self-starter capable of managing workload under minimal direction and supervision
- Proven ability to identify, reason and problem solve non-conformities and deviations
- Must be able to use and accurately measure using tape measure, micrometer and calipers
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this role, including close vision, color evaluations and the ability to adjust to focus
- Overtime and weekend hours, as needed
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Familiarity with ISO procedures
- Knowledge or experience working with Chart products
- Knowledge of hazardous waste regulations
