Job Summary
Structural Systems Section Manager leads the Structures Department’s structural integrity and stability efforts for launch and space-vehicle hardware. Responsible for directing independent analyses, test plan formulation, and validation of design, analysis, and testing methodologies (including COPVs, lines, bellows, valves, plumbing, and LV/SV interfaces). Oversees staff, sets technical direction and standards, coordinates with program offices, and mentors engineers to deliver high-quality assessments for customers and leadership. Requires hands-on experience in both hand calculations and finite element analysis, strong leadership, and ability to communicate complex technical concepts to senior and customer leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field
- 8 years of experience in structural design, analysis, and test methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain excellent working relations with customers and contractor personnel
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-disciplinary teams
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
- Demonstrated ability to clearly present complex technical assessments to senior and customer leadership
