Structural Steel Welder

Job Summary
Structural Steel Welder needed to join our Winston-Salem team. Responsibilities include MIG welding of steel structures, reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings, assisting with aligning parts, setting up equipment, maintaining safety protocols, inspecting materials for quality, grinding/repairing pieces, measuring and cutting according to specs, and working overtime as needed. Requirements include high school diploma or equivalent, ability to pass a welders certification test, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, safety consciousness, good attendance, and effective communication and teamwork. Prior welding experience is preferred; familiarity with overhead cranes and basic maintenance of welding gear is helpful.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a welders certification test
- Ability to safely operate overhead cranes
- Knowledge of oxy/fuel torches and measuring devices (e.g., tapes, squares, levels)
- Previous welding experience (preferred)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Safety conscious
- Ability to work overtime
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications accurately
- Set up welding equipment and maintain proper safety protocols
- Grinds and repairs pieces when needed
- Measure and cut materials according to specifications
