Job Summary
Inspection of welding, steel fabrication, and steel erection; monitoring work for compliance with approved shop drawings, standards, and specifications; inspection and evaluation of corroded and/or damaged steel members; inspection of repair welding and coatings; writing daily shop/field reports in digital format; communicating with owners, fabricators, engineers, and other CWIs and NDT technicians; reviewing submittals (welding plans, WPS, WPQR, Welder Certification, shop drawings, quality control reports) for project requirements; participation in safety meetings; readiness to travel within the US as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant post-education experience in discipline
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification
- ASNT NDT Level II Certification (UT and MT)
- Experience performing QA/QC during structural steel fabrication
- Must be willing to travel as needed, including overnight stays when out of town
- Valid Driver License
- Sufficient physical stamina to work long hours indoors and outdoors under various field conditions
- Climbing, bending, crawling, and working in confined spaces and on uneven terrain
- Ability to lift 25+ lbs.
- Must pass a physical and background check and must have a satisfactory driving record
