Structural Senior Design Engineer

Job Summary
Lead structural design and analysis for advanced complexity projects, developing specifications, reviewing calculations, and ensuring compliance with federal and state codes. Manage project deliverables, estimate schedules and progress reports, and coordinate technical issues with multidisciplinary teams, vendors, and clients. Provide guidance to engineers on equipment procurement, subcontracting scopes, and construction administration requests. Maintain material key quantities and forecasts while executing work within approved project baselines. Requires U.S. citizenship, DOE security clearance, and a Professional Engineer license. Fluor Corporation onsite role.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen
- Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a drug and breath alcohol test, along with a Motor Vehicle Record check
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance
- Professional Engineer license
- Working knowledge of applicable federal (including Department of Energy orders), state, and local codes and standards
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to project management, coworkers, clients, vendors, and subcontractors
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
- Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards
- Ability to perform work in compliance with applicable local, state, and federal codes, statutes and guidelines
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
- Intermediate computer and software skills to include proficiency in the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs
- Significant experience providing engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services on large industrial projects
- Proficiency executing large EPC projects utilizing engineering analysis, 3D modeling and 2D computer-aided drafting and design (CADD) automation tools in a multi-discipline environment
- Advanced knowledge of performing hand and computer calculations for foundations, concrete, and steel structures
- Advanced knowledge of one or more of the following structural design software: STAAD, STAADPro and RISA3D
- Advanced knowledge of Mathcad
- Advanced knowledge of analyzing complex structures
- Advanced knowledge of wind and seismic loading in structural calculations
- Advanced knowledge of dynamic analysis and design
- Advanced knowledge of computer modeling and analysis
