Structural Project Manager – Bridges & Transportation

Job Summary
Lead structural design projects from concept through final delivery, including bridge and retaining wall structures. Prepare and review structural calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and complete design packages. Lead and mentor structural designers, coordinating project plans and specifications in accordance with TDOT standards. Work directly with clients to develop scopes of work, fee proposals, and project strategies while managing budgets, schedules, and deliverables. Take ownership of design calculations and ensure independent quality control reviews are completed. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex design challenges. This role supports Benesch's Tennessee team in delivering innovative transportation solutions and building long-term relationships with local partners.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of bridge design experience
- A B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- PE License in Tennessee, or the ability to obtain Tennessee licensure through reciprocity
- Experience working with TDOT and/or local municipalities
- Strong technical expertise in bridge design, structural analysis, and the development of complete design packages
- Experience preparing and reviewing structural calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, reports, and other project deliverables
- Strong communication and client relationship skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams
- Experience developing scopes of work, fee proposals, and contracts
- Proficiency with Bentley CAD and structural design software
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables
