Job Summary
Senior Structural Project Engineer in San Diego, CA responsible for managing structural engineering tasks and developing structural drawings, Revit models, and reports for Life Sciences, Data Center, Tech, Civic, Education, Mixed-use, and Healthcare projects. Use design software including RISA, Enercalc, RAM, Bluebeam, and REVIT to produce construction drawings; apply building code provisions and interpret material design standards; coordinate with other disciplines; supervise and mentor Staff Engineers and CAD staff; manage submittals, client communications, and project costs; travel 10% nationally; strong emphasis on sustainability and client relationships. Requires 5-10+ years of related experience, PE license, and a BS or MS in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering with relevant coursework; experience with Revit and ETABS/RAM/RISA; proficiency in BIM and seismic/wind design; hybrid work arrangement in San Diego, CA.
Required Qualifications
- 5-10+ years of related experience in building design
- PE license
- Structural or Civil Engineering degree (BS/ MS)
- Experience with Revit and other engineering software such as ETABS, RAM, RISA
- Experience with Steel, Concrete, and Wood-framed design
- Experience with Building Information Modeling
- High seismic (SDC D, E or F), high wind, and/or blast-resistant design a plus
- Hybrid work schedule
- Travel: 10% National
