Job Summary
Perform in-depth structural calculations based on applicable codes and local standards, preparing computer-generated engineering drawings using AutoCAD for projects involving bridges, walls, and civil structures. Collaborate with project engineers, managers, and a team of planners and landscape architects to produce quality designs and construction documents in accordance with Matrix and Municipality standards. Revise drawings, complete moderate calculations, and prepare project specifications, quantity summaries, and cost estimates while managing data references from preliminary design through final construction. Communicate progress and results to project managers, estimate scope for task order proposals, and perform Level 1 quality assurance/quality control. Mentor entry-level engineers and coordinate detailed aspects of engineering work within defined scope, schedule, and budget parameters.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate or graduate degree from accredited program in civil engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering
- Professional Engineering licensure or ability to obtain PE within one year
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience with an emphasis in structural engineering
- Strong industry relationships and an understanding of municipal, state, and federal criteria
- Demonstrated project and program management experience
- Valid driver's license, in conjunction with successfully passing the Company's MVR
- In-depth knowledge of structural finite element and frame modeling software
- Outstanding knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Outstanding verbal, written and presentation skills
- High attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to take broad feedback and direction and translate into detailed and highly accurate plans
- Ability to manage data references throughout the duration of projects, from preliminary design and alternative analysis to final design and construction
Desired Qualifications
- AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred
