Job Summary
Coordinate design and construction phases for diverse structural projects by engaging in stakeholder meetings, conducting design reviews, and producing comprehensive construction documents within schedule and budget constraints. Prepare structural specifications, select construction procedures, determine materials and member sizes, and perform all necessary calculations. Manage shop drawing reviews, respond to RFIs, handle change proposals, and incorporate modifications into project documents. Conduct site observations and walks during construction to prepare detailed reports ensuring alignment with design intent. Perform complete gravity and lateral analyses using design software and prepare comprehensive calculation packages. Maintain proficiency in ETABS, SAFE, RISA, RAM, ENERCALC, Excel, Bluebeam, Revit, and AutoCAD. Requires a Bachelor's in civil engineering with structural emphasis, minimum six years of progressive experience, and a Professional Engineering license.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a Structural emphasis
- Minimum of 6 years of full-time progressive experience in structural engineering
- Professional Engineering license (P.E.)
- Robust understanding of the California Building Code (CBC) and all relevant design codes such as ASCE, AISC, ACI, MSJC, NDS, etc.
- Proficiency in widely-used structural engineering and office tools, including ETABS, SAFE, RISA, RAM, ENERCALC, Excel, Bluebeam, etc.
- High level of proficiency in performing complete gravity and lateral analyses using design software, along with preparing comprehensive structural engineering calculation packages
- Expertise in the design of various structural materials, encompassing steel, concrete, masonry, wood, etc.
- Proficiency in drafting and navigating Revit and AutoCAD
