Job Summary
Structural Engineer for KPFF Consulting Engineers to design gravity, lateral, and foundation systems for new and retrofit buildings in high seismic hazard zones; perform structural analysis and seismic design using ETABS, RISA, SAFE, RAM Steel; develop construction documents; support projects through planning to construction including submittal reviews and RFI coordination; collaborate with BIM and cross-discipline teams; provide technical guidance and oversight to junior engineers and supervise design engineers in construction administration; required to hold a PE license and a BS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structures; knowledge of ACI 318, AISC 360, TMS 402/602, ASCE 7, ASCE 41, CBC, CEBC; experience with healthcare, laboratory, or highly regulated facilities is preferred; hybrid in-office schedule with Irvine/LA offices; digs into seismic design, retrofit schemes, and coordination with project managers and architects.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Civil Engineering (emphasis in Structures)
- Five years of full-time work experience as an engineer in a structural consulting organization
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Transcripts showing completed courses in Structural Analysis, Mechanics of Materials, Concrete, Steel or Wood Design
- 3.0 GPA in Undergraduate coursework
