Job Summary

Obtain customer approval for Material Review Board authority through training and substantiated evidence of knowledge of relevant materials and structures. Design repairs for damaged hardware utilizing modeling tools such as Catia to restore design intent of composite and metallic aerostructures. Support manufacturing to troubleshoot technical issues, interpret specifications with Materials and Process engineers, and assist in root cause corrective actions to standardize processes. Interface with customers, vendors, and cross-discipline teams to justify repair decisions and coordinate defect consent. Provide technical leadership by training lower-level staff to diagnose and solve problems while implementing lean manufacturing and digital manufacturing solutions. Travel up to 10%. This onsite production support role within Collins Aerospace's Operations team focuses on fabricating advanced composite and metallic structures for the aerospace and defense industry.

Required Qualifications

  • University Degree
  • minimum 8 years prior relevant experience
  • Advanced Degree in a related field
  • minimum 5 years of experience
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Familiar with PLM and ERP systems such as Teamcenter and SAP
  • Bachelor's degree typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Aerospace experience
  • Experience working with manufacturing and assembly operations environments
  • Experience with Composite and Metallics materials
  • Catia V5
  • Previous experience with MRB delegated authority
