Structural/Mechanical Project Manager

Job Summary

Oversee all structural and mechanical projects from initial scope to final completion, managing budgets, timelines, and milestones while coordinating with superintendents, engineers, and subcontractors. Define project objectives with Pre-Construction, develop detailed schedules for steel erection and mechanical installation, and present monthly cost and schedule updates to executive management. Lead safety and quality efforts by ensuring adherence to company policies, defining inspection requirements for welds and connections, and validating as-built documentation. Serve as the primary client contact, communicate expectations during construction handoffs, and manage change orders and billing documentation. Monitor resources and material availability through Procurement, conduct pre-construction meetings with vendors, and utilize project management systems to track performance across multiple work fronts.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver license
  • At least five years of structural/mechanical project management experience
  • Possesses strong understanding of structural and mechanical systems including steel erection, piping, and equipment installation
  • Ability to read and understand structural steel drawings, mechanical P&IDs, and equipment layout plans
  • Knowledge of industry standards including AISC, AWS, and ASME codes
  • Understanding of fabrication processes, erection sequencing, and mechanical system commissioning
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and creating Gantt charts
  • Travel requirements: up to 10% of time
  • This role requires compliance with all applicable safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and Loenbro's Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management preferred
