Job Summary
Structural Mechanic 2 role performing assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures in aircraft production. Responsibilities include rivet assembly, sheetmetal layout, fabrication and installation, reading work orders and blueprints, aligning parts with jigs and fixtures, maintaining quality and logs, and participating in continuous improvement activities. Must safely rivet assemblies, use a variety of tools, and ensure conformity to specifications in a team-oriented environment. Requires ability to read blueprints, perform shop math, and lift up to 50 lbs. Full-time position based in St. Louis with up to 25% travel; no visa sponsorship unless currently sponsored internally.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years related structural assembly experience
- Able to read blueprints/read work orders/blueprints/lofts/sketches/operation sheets
- Experience with rivet fabrication and installation on aircraft surfaces
- Experience with sheet metal layout, fabrication, and installation
- Knowledge of using tools such as riveting guns, pneumatic drills, countersinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers
- Ability to maintain logs (MIR sheets, DMTs, CRabs, PCOs) and follow SOPs
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with minimal supervision
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Shift flexibility and travel up to 25%
- Basic computer skills and shop math
- English language proficiency
