Job Summary
Erect and install structural steel, beams, columns, joists, and metal decking by reading blueprints and interpreting specifications. Bolt, weld, align, and secure components using proper rigging techniques while operating hand and power tools safely. Work from aerial lifts, ladders, and scaffolding at heights of 100 feet or more, installing stairs, handrails, and guardrails. Inspect completed work for quality and compliance, maintain clean job sites, and participate in daily safety meetings. Follow OSHA regulations and company policies, including a full harness and hard hat. Requires 1-2 years of structural steel erection experience, valid driver's license, and ability to lift 75 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of structural steel erection experience
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints
- Experience using ironworking tools and equipment
- Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites
- Valid driver's license
- Dependable transportation
- Must pass drug screen
- Must pass all required background checks
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work overhead for extended periods
- Comfortable working at heights of 100 feet or more while using proper fall protection
Desired Qualifications
- Structural welding certifications
- Rigging and signal person certification
- Aerial lift certification
- Crane signaling experience
- NCCER Ironworker Certification or equivalent
- Commercial or industrial construction experience
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification (or ability to obtain if needed)
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain if needed)
- Prefer candidates with their own tools
