Job Summary
Perform underwater structural inspections of bridges and transportation infrastructure throughout Texas as a certified commercial diver. Conduct field data collection and documentation for inspection and evaluation projects, applying engineering principles to assess conditions and recommend solutions. Develop clear inspection reports and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with safety procedures and industry standards. Travel periodically across the state to support client needs while maintaining high quality and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- ADCI Certified Commercial Diver certification
- Ability and willingness to travel for project assignments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Dedication to maintaining high safety and quality standards
- Ability to perform commercial diving activities in varying environmental conditions
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in changing weather conditions
- Ability to lift, carry, and operate inspection and diving equipment
- Ability to travel and perform field inspections throughout Texas
Desired Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to quality
- Completion of NHI Underwater Bridge Inspection Course (130091)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas
- Project management experience
- Experience with load ratings and bridge preservation projects
- Structural or transportation design experience
- Completion of NHI Inspection of Ancillary Highway Structures (130087)
- Completion of NHI Bridge Inspection Techniques for Nonredundant Steel Tension Members (NSTM) (130078)
- Residence in or willingness to relocate to the Round Rock/Austin area
