Job Summary
Structural Inspector responsible for reviewing plans and contract documents for structural design on HPD-assisted projects, including the rehabilitation of multi-family buildings. Must possess strong knowledge of structural engineering, ability to read drawings and specs, conduct field surveys and inspections, prepare organized inspection and field reports, coordinate with the Bureau of Construction Services, and apply independent judgment to technical issues. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, experience with plans review for structural systems in multi-family housing, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Must have or be eligible for a New York State Professional Engineer license and be authorized to work in the United States.
Required Qualifications
- Four (4) years of full-time, satisfactory experience in civil engineering work
- A valid New York State Professional Engineer’s License
- Masters degree in civil engineering may be substituted for one year of experience
- Authorization to work in the United States is required; employer does not sponsor visas (H-1B)
