Job Summary
Conduct hands-on failure analysis assignments in the field and testing facility to determine root causes of structural and envelope failures. Document findings, perform technical research, and write engineering reports conveying complex issues to lay audiences. Apply engineering principles and theories to real-world situations, often requiring work beyond standard code requirements. Complete assignments on time as requested by clients while maintaining ethical practices. This full-time role involves regular travel, including some overnight trips, and requires a valid driver's license. The position demands physical capability to traverse uneven terrain, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds in various weather conditions. Candidates must be licensed Professional Engineers with a Master's or Ph.D. in civil engineering and five years of supervisory or project management experience.
Required Qualifications
- Master's in civil engineering
- Ph.D. in civil engineering
- 5 years supervisory or project management experience
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Valid Driver's License in good standing, and demonstrated safe driving habits
- Ability to pass a background check as required for the position
- Eligible candidates will be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship
- Must be available during the standard work hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to traverse wooded and/or uneven terrain
- Ability to enter structures
- Ability to use ladders
- Ability to walk on roofs
- Ability to enter small spaces
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Regular travel will be required
- Some overnight travel may be required
