Job Summary
Structural Fitter role responsible for layout, positioning, alignment and securing parts for welding and bolt-up, measuring, marking, cutting, boring, fitting and installing structural components per blueprints and job specs using hand and power tools (saws, cutting torches, pipe threaders/benders, etc.), participation in JSA and safety processes, and conducting safety observations. Requires 3+ years fabrication experience, ability to interpret ISO standards and P&IDs, torch-cutting capability, arc cutting with square/bevel cuts, plasma arc cutting, field sketches, and completion of a Hands-on Fitter Test. Rotational schedule 5/2; location in Houma, LA.
Required Qualifications
- 3 or more years prior fabrication experience
- Able to interpret ISO’s and P&ID’s
- Able to cut with a torch
- Square-cut and bevel-cut metal using arc cutting equipment
- Pierce and cut slots in metal using plasma arc cutting equipment
- Create field sketches
- Experience using safe work habits
- Candidates will be required to pass a Hands-on Fitter Test
