Job Summary
Now hiring experienced Structural Fitters/Welders for a contract position in shipbuilding. Seeking candidates with a solid four years of relevant experience, capable of multi-pass tack welding, and proficient in interpreting complex blueprints.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum four years of commercial or naval experience as a first-class Shipfitter
- Extensive skills in single pass tack welding and multi-pass tack welding using SMAW process
- Experience operating burning and heating equipment
- Ability to read and interpret complex structural assembly drawings, blueprints, and sketches
- Knowledge of welding symbols and material types
Desired Qualifications
- Strong background in shipbuilding and steel fabrication
- Ability to work effectively in physically demanding environments
- Understanding of OSHA regulations in shipbuilding
