Job Summary
Design, evaluate, and certify advanced mission payloads, electronic systems, aircraft, and orbital exploration structures. Examine complex metallic and composite systems using Computer Aided Engineering tools, static strength analysis, and Finite Element analysis via MSC Patran, Nastran, FEMAP, or ANSYS. Perform fatigue and damage tolerance analysis utilizing NASGRO or AFGROW tools while authoring substantiation reports. Work within multi-disciplinary design and development teams to apply classical hand calculation methods and industry-standard mechanical design principles. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering with six years of relevant experience. Background in the Aerospace and Defense industry is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of Computer Aided Engineering tools
- Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
- Static strength analysis experience
- Experience with classical analysis using industry standard hand calculation methods
- Understanding of engineering principles and practices
- Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering or other related discipline
- 6 or more years of relevant experience
Desired Qualifications
- Liaison Engineering experience
- Aircraft Modification experience
- Experience in Engineering Simulation using Finite Element structural analysis (FEA) tools such as MSC Patran, Nastran, FEMAP, or ANSYS
- Experience performing fatigue and damage tolerance analysis utilizing tools such as NASGRO or AFGROW
- Ability to perform classical analysis using industry standard hand calculation methods
- Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing and production processes
- Ability to author substantiation reports
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
