Job Summary
Lead the growth of KPFF's structural engineering group in the Birmingham market by developing client relationships, securing new work, and expanding the local office's presence. Build and mentor a high-performing team of engineers and BIM modelers through technical guidance, career development, and recruiting support while providing project leadership across diverse structural systems from early planning through construction. Strengthen office culture and long-term strategy by connecting the Birmingham team with national resources and expertise. Requires a PE license, 8+ years of structural engineering experience, and 3+ years leading teams.
Required Qualifications
- Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Engineering
- 8+ years of progressive structural engineering experience
- Experience leading teams of three or more engineers
- Design experience across a wide range of materials, project phases and sectors
- A collaborative leadership style
- Passion for mentoring and growth
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
Desired Qualifications
- Structural Engineer (SE) license
- Masters degree
- Experience with client development, relationship management, and business development
- Interest in helping grow client partnerships, identify new opportunities, and support the continued expansion of the practice
