Job Summary
Senior Structural Engineer with 10+ years of experience leading structural project teams in design and construction across heavy industrial sectors (pulp and paper, steel manufacturing, chemical). Responsible for managing engineers/designers, coordinating staffing, developing schedules and forecasts, performing detailed design calculations and material take-offs, preparing construction specifications, and mentoring staff. Requires ABET-accredited degree, PE/SE registration, proficiency with RISA/STAAD/TEDDS, AutoCAD/Revit, and strong communication skills; willingness to travel to job sites and work in the field. The role emphasizes leading teams, scope/delivery alignment with budgets and schedules, and providing technical guidance throughout design and construction phases.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master of Science in Structural Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program
- Registration: PE and/or SE is required
- Minimum 10 years of related experience in structural engineering
- Experience leading small, medium, and large structural teams
- Deep understanding of structural analysis software: RISA, STAAD, TEDDS, etc.
- Working knowledge of drafting software: AutoCAD and/or Revit software
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Willingness to visit job sites
- Travel and/or visits to various job sites are required
- Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for long periods of time; able to bend, stoop and climb
