Job Summary
Lead and oversee the cold-formed / light gauge steel structural engineering department in Fairfax, VA. Manage a team of 4–5 structural professionals while directing projects from kickoff through completion. Perform analyses, calculations, and create full drawing sets; conduct field surveys and field reports; ensure compliance with engineering standards and quality control. Coordinate with other disciplines, respond to reviewer comments, and manage project scope, schedule, and budget. Drive client relationships, proposals, and business growth; supervise performance reviews, staffing decisions, and HR duties to maintain a high-performing team. Maintain profitability and oversee contracts, scopes of work, and billing. Requires Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, 8 years of structural design experience (including 5 years in cold-formed steel), 4 years of project management and 4 years of staff management, and an active U.S. PE license. Salary range is $105,000–$150,000 with no sponsorship for work authorization.
