Job Summary
Lead the structural design of substation foundations, steel structures, and equipment supports across Olsson’s Transmission and Substation team. Collaborate closely with electrical engineers, designers, and project managers through all project phases, from conceptual design to construction administration. Provide technical leadership and review of designs by junior engineers, engage in client meetings and RFIs, and offer construction support with limited travel to project sites. Emphasizes ownership, collaboration, and delivering constructible designs for essential infrastructure projects with opportunities for flexible work arrangements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering (structural emphasis)
- 6+ years of progressive structural engineering experience
- Experience designing concrete foundations and structural steel systems
- Working knowledge of codes and standards (ACI, AISC, IBC, ASCE)
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe
