Job Summary
Early-career Structural Engineer sought to join STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES’ nationwide assessment and repair engineering division. The role combines in-person collaboration with work-from-home flexibility in a hybrid structure, with opportunities in Chicago, IL; Columbia, MD; and remote options in the Charlotte, NC and Chattanooga, TN areas. You will gain hands-on exposure across engineering and construction disciplines, evaluate distressed structures to determine root causes, design repairs that are constructible and safe in live nuclear/industrial facilities, and work side by side with construction teams. The position emphasizes understanding why structures fail, accountability for real-world performance, and future progression toward engineering leadership paths. Key skills include proficiency with structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, RISA3D, STAAD), drafting/BIM tools (AutoCAD, Revit), strong communication, and a willingness to travel and work in the field. Education, FE exam status, and a preference for professional registration are required or preferred, with a focus on safety and hands-on problem solving.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering
- Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam is mandatory
- Professional registration is preferred
- 3 - 6 years of experience
