Job Summary

Review and assess existing building construction and condition, analyze contract documents including calculations, drawings, and specifications, and perform seismic risk and property condition assessments. Act as a technical team member and small project lead for clients' commercial structures across multifamily, office, retail, industrial, and hotel/hospitality sectors. Collaborate with clients, internal teams, consultants, and site contacts to ensure overall project understanding, preparing and presenting detailed formal reports. Requires a licensed professional engineer with 7-12 years of experience in structural engineering consulting.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in architectural engineering, civil engineering, or structural engineering
  • Licensed as a professional engineer
  • SE credential
  • Seven to twelve (7-12) years of industry-related experience at a structural engineering consulting firm
  • Technical level of understanding of building types, building codes, and seismic lateral force-resisting systems
  • Understanding of hazardous building types/features and site seismic hazards
  • Good understanding of Construction processes and activities
  • Good understanding of building materials and methods
  • Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
  • Proficient in Revit, Bluebeam, Plan Grid, MS Suite and Box
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management successes
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner, remain organized, and multitask
  • Decision-making and problem-solving experience in a technical role
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, PlanGrid and Box
  • Ability to operate a computer (keyboarding) and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copier/scanner/printer
  • Use visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens
  • Move through construction and existing building sites over rough terrain
  • See and respond to dangerous situations
  • Respond quickly to sounds
  • Ascend and descend ladders and stairs
  • Move safely through confined spaces and narrow paths
  • Work in outdoor weather conditions or unconditioned areas
  • Travel approximately 25-50% of the time both locally and regionally
