Structural Engineer

Job Summary
Conduct structural design and detailing for bridge, building, and treatment plant structures while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on planning, design, and construction projects. Manage client communication through verbal and written updates and perform periodic on-site construction observations to ensure projects complete on time and within budget. Lead project teams with opportunities to guide structural initiatives for commercial and government transportation clients. Based primarily in the West Des Moines office, with flexibility for Bolingbrook or Kansas City locations. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, five years of experience, and an Iowa PE license.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 5 years or more experience in structural engineering
- Iowa PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT) and/or Illinois DOT projects and procedures
- Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD bridge design code
- Illinois SE license a plus
- Master's Degree in Structural Engineering
- Experience with hydraulic design for bridges and roadway design
- Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD a plus
