Job Summary
Structural Engineer role focused on the design and execution of large-scale steel erection projects nationwide. Responsibilities include performing structural analyses and stability evaluations, designing and reviewing bracing systems, lifting devices, and crane pick plans, developing sequencing strategies for safe erection methods, collaborating with project management and field teams, producing detailed drawings and sequencing visuals with CAD/modeling software, conducting occasional site visits to assess conditions and convey design intent, and providing technical guidance to internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.
Required Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required; licensed or eligible for licensure in Wisconsin or Minnesota
- Minimum 6 years of experience in structural engineering; steel erection experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Tekla or similar design/modeling software; Bluebeam and Microsoft Office proficiency required
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication, erection practices, and field coordination
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites (typically short trips)
