Job Summary
Utilize STAAD.Pro and AutoCAD to perform structural analysis, create 3D models, and design equipment support structures and industrial facilities while optimizing material usage. Conduct simulations to predict deflections and stresses, ensuring all designs comply with codes such as ASME, ASCE, and UBC. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, civil engineers, and clients to integrate structural requirements into overall project goals. Prepare detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and reports, and review team outputs to maintain quality and accuracy. Authority includes designing components within defined complexity limits, overseeing project phases, and signing off on documentation before regulatory submission.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor/Master Degree in Civil Engineering/Structural Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 3 to 10 years of experience with structural design & analysis
- Familiarity with local and international industry standards, codes, and regulations applicable to structural engineering
- Proficiency in STAAD.Pro structural analysis software
- Proficiency in AutoCAD structural design software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for interpreting engineering requirements and solving complex technical challenges
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards
- Well-versed with international codes like ASME, ASCE-360, AISC-360, IBC, UBC, AS-4100, AS-1170, SP 16.13330, EN 1090, etc.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders
- Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate engineering drawings, reports, and technical documentation
- Authority to design and approve structural components and systems within defined limits of complexity and budget
- Ability to oversee and manage specific aspects of structural projects, including the design, analysis, and implementation phases
- Authority to review and sign off on design calculations, structural drawings, and related documentation before submission for regulatory approvals or client review
- Authority to interact with clients to discuss project requirements, provide technical advice, and address any concerns or modifications needed
- Authority to enforce compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements within the scope of the projects they handle
- Supervisory responsibilities for a Structural Engineer may include guiding and mentoring junior engineers, coordinating project tasks, third party vendor management and ensuring technical accuracy in structural analysis and design projects
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant certifications or training in STAAD.Pro software may be beneficial, demonstrating proficiency in using these tools for engineering analysis and design
