Job Summary

Take directions from senior-level engineers to assist with design tasks, including reviewing fabrication shop drawings, modeling structures with finite element analysis, and applying design codes. Assist in preparing engineering calculations, technical reports, and construction documents while performing value engineering design analyses. Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams and manage detailed project information to prioritize workload. Conduct occasional project site visits to inspect construction quality. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, F.E. exam completion, and ability to travel one to two days per trip.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • 0 - 3+ years of engineering experience
  • Successful completion of the F.E. exam (Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) registration)
  • Must be willing to travel to project locations for short durations (typically one to two days per trip) around the U.S. at least a few times per year
  • Must have the ability to walk on and inspect structural reinforcement

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Prior experience within the energy industry
  • An interest in reinforced concrete
  • Possess strong oral and writing skills to effectively communicate between project team members and clients
  • Interest in using several different structural design codes including IBC, ACI, ASCE 7, AISC, etc.
  • Well versed in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • AutoCAD and/or finite element analysis experience
