Job Summary
Assist the Engineering Manager with project delivery regarding scope, cost, and schedule while ensuring safety and integrity principles are implemented in structural documentation. Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, data sheets, and reports, and review work prepared by junior engineers and designers. Participate in design reviews, contribute to estimates, and manage small capital and maintenance projects within budget and schedule. Stamp documents and drawings as required, and support the compilation of monthly engineering status reports. This role supports large and small-scale industrial projects across mining, metals, and energy transition sectors within the Project Delivery Group.
Required Qualifications
- A recognized degree in civil/structural engineering from an accredited university
- Registration as a professional engineer
- Registration as a candidate professional engineer actively working towards professional registration or regional equivalent
- Minimum 4+ years project engineering experience
- Experience in underground mining projects
- Experience in mine shaft design
- Experience in headframe design
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good planning and organizational skills
- Ability to function with minimal supervision
- Sound understanding of design engineering codes and technical standards
- Experience with Staad Pro structural analysis software
- Awareness of Health, Safety, Environment and Community (HSEC) Policy and standards
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with Mathcad
- Familiarity with SAP 2000
- Sound knowledge of 3D data-centric design systems
- Sound knowledge of engineering management systems
- Ability to delegate tasks and effectively supervise others
- Experience in the use of procedures and workflows in the execution of projects
