Required Qualifications

• •Bachelors Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
• •Proficient in the use of AutoCAD
• •5 years of relevant full-time work experience
• •Hands on experience with structural analysis and design software
• •Proficiency with MS Office software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
• •Be capable of field inspection activity such as climbing ladders, using man lifts
• •Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
• •Strong understanding of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code and MTO Structural Manual
• •Must be able to climb ladders
• •Must be able to use man lifts
• •Must be able to collaborate and communicate effectively with various disciplines
• •Must be able to coordinate structural design with project requirements
• •Must be able to design of concrete and steel members such as slabs, footings, columns and beams
• •Must be able to develop structural details
• •Must be able to review structural shop drawings
• •Must be able to lead structural design for small scale projects
• •Must be able to attend seminars to broaden exposure and remain current on the industry
• •Must be able to assist senior engineers by performing inspection, condition assessment, rehabilitation and structural design of bridges, culverts, retaining walls and transportation related facilities
• •Must be able to work includes steel and concrete design
• •Must be able to use of structural programs such as CSI Bridge and SAP 2000
• •Must be able to performs structural design calculations for concrete and steel structures
• •Must be able to develops structural drawings using AutoCAD and MicroStation
• •Must be able to work under supervision
• •Must be able to perform duties assigned by Discipline Lead Engineers and/or Project Managers
• •Must be able to work on highways and bridges or traffic engineering
• •Must be able to deliver innovative solutions that address the complexities of modern, multimodal roadway systems
• •Must be able to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable travel for all
• •Must be able to engage in transformative projects that enhance transportation infrastructure and improve community connectivity
• •Must be able to work on resilient, sustainable design and construction
• •Must be able to work in a hybrid work model
• •Must be able to attend regular attendance at our Mississauga or Toronto office
• •Must be able to work in Mississauga or Toronto
• •Must be able to work in Ontario
• •Must be able to work full-time
• •Must be able to work for GFT
• •Must be able to work in the Practice or CBG Team
• •Must be able to work in the transportation team
• •Must be able to work at GFT
• •Must be able to work in an AEC firm

• •Must be able to work with 5,000+ of the industry's brightest engineers, planners, architects, inspectors, designers, and more
