Job Summary
Develop structural design plans and drawings for commercial buildings and large home developments, addressing complex elements like foundation offsets and geotechnical compliance. Perform analysis on ongoing projects using software such as SAP 2000, ETABS, and RISA 3D to ensure structural safety and integrity. Oversee construction progress, providing guidance on site retaining walls and column grids while conducting inspections of existing structures to assess viability. Ensure all designs meet local building codes and address safety concerns including flood risks and fire safety measures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a structural engineering role, with a focus on industrial and commercial structures
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP 2000, ETABS, Math CAD, RISA 3D, and STAAD
- Solid understanding of structural design principles for steel and concrete structures
- Ability to create detailed design drawings and conduct thorough structural analysis
- Strong problem-solving abilities to identify and address complex structural challenges
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with clients and stakeholders
- Knowledge of health and safety guidelines related to structural engineering and construction
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines
