Job Summary

Licensed Structural Engineer role responsible for plan examining across building permit categories to ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code; independently manage projects from schematic design through construction with minimal guidance; prepare engineering calculations and oversee construction documents; coordinate structural design with architects, other disciplines, officials, and contractors; perform construction administration including shop drawing reviews and interpretation of construction documents; evaluate alternate methods, explain code requirements to customers and field inspectors, and ensure adherence to codes and regulations across commercial and residential projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Florida Licensed Professional Engineer; or Certified by the State of Florida as a Structural Plans Examiner
  • Five (5) + years of structural design experience with a consulting firm, is a plus

Desired Qualifications

  • Florida Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Certified by the State of Florida as a Structural Plans Examiner
  • Five (5)+ years structural design experience
  • Florida Building Code knowledge
  • Ability to read, interpret, and evaluate construction plans against codes and regulations
  • Experience coordinating with architects, engineers, building officials, and contractors
