Job Summary

Prepare engineering service proposals, support project scoping and cost estimation, and execute structural analysis to deliver design calculations and stamped engineering drawings. Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to manage stakeholder coordination and approvals while developing construction drawings, tender documentation, and permit submissions. Lead design efforts, oversee project scheduling and budgeting, and provide technical review and design validation for junior engineers and project deliverables. Conduct site inspections and construction review services to ensure design compliance with Canadian building codes. Maintain ongoing technical advisory support for clients throughout project lifecycles. This mid-level Structural Engineer role operates within a hybrid model requiring 60% on-site presence in Calgary, Alberta, and involves contributing to project delivery from conceptual design through construction.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Alberta, in good standing
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in structural design for building projects
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian building codes and structural design standards
  • Experience leading or contributing to multidisciplinary project delivery environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of structural design software including ETABS, SAFE, SAP, S-Frame, or WoodWorks
  • Basic proficiency with BIM tools such as Revit
  • Demonstrated competency in technical reporting, design review, and construction documentation
  • Valid driver's license with access to a registered and insured vehicle
  • Minimum of 60% on-site presence
  • Hybrid work model

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience on institutional or large-scale commercial projects in Canada
  • Exposure to construction administration or field inspection activities
