Job Summary
Utilize structural analysis software like SAP2000 and STAAD for bridge design tasks under supervision, coordinating with other disciplines and the construction team. Compile data to prepare drawings, design studies, and cost estimates while adhering to AASHTO and VDOT standards. Conduct bridge inspections and assist in site investigations as needed. Complete design work with guidance to transition toward independent operation. Base salary ranges from $38.07 to $46.53 per hour for entry-level candidates in the Virginia market.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- 0 to 2 years of experience
- Must be able to obtain employment in the U.S. and present the required documentation at hire
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred
- EIT certification preferred
- Intern experience preferred
- Experience with VDOT projects desirable
- Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or Open Bridge Modeler desirable
- Experience with STAAD, SAP2000, or similar a plus
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
