Job Summary
Conduct moderately complex structural engineering work by preparing, analyzing, and reviewing design plans, specifications, estimates, and reports for foundations, framing, concrete, steel, masonry, and timber structures. Review structural services required of engineering consultants and architects, perform site investigations, and prepare feasibility reports and preliminary designs. Assist in project status reviews, initiate changes, and make recommendations to contractors, architects, and inspectors on structural issues during construction. Analyze environmental impact reports, negative declarations, and soils test data to recommend foundation designs. This full-time position is with the Los Angeles Unified School District and requires three years of professional structural engineering experience, with school construction emphasis preferred. A bachelor's degree in structural or civil engineering is required, and a California PE license is preferred.
