Job Summary
Structural Engineer role supporting construction projects at the Knolls Site in West Milton, NY. Develop and define project scope with sponsors, prepare specifications, cost estimates, and participate in drawing reviews; oversee architectural engineering firms in developing concept designs, construction documents, and cost estimates; coordinate with facility staff and contractors during construction. Requires active DOE L clearance or DOD equivalent, BS in Structural Engineering, and credentials such as EIT and/or PE; thorough knowledge of building codes and standards and construction administration activities (submittal reviews, RFIs, inspections).
Required Qualifications
- B.S. Structural Engineering
- EIT certificate and or P.E. License
- Experience performing structural engineering tasks including the development of contract documents, calculations and cost estimates
- Working knowledge of building codes and standards
- Experience in construction administration (submittal review, RFI's, construction inspections)
- An active DOE L clearance or DOD equivalent is required to be considered
- US citizenship is required
