Job Summary
Conduct structural analysis and detailed design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment, and foundations for power transmission modifications and upgrades. Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve a wide variety of structural engineering issues while developing integrated designs and supporting calculations. Perform independent reviews of work performed by others, including calculations and drawing preparation, and prepare technical specifications for structural materials. Coordinate with engineers, project managers, client personnel, and suppliers to ensure timely design completion, and travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and field verification. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office and two days remote. Candidates must possess a BSCE or MSCE and three years of experience in structural steel and reinforced concrete design.
Required Qualifications
- BSCE or MSCE from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program

- Three or more years experience as a practicing structural engineer
- experience as a member of a project team
- working on the design and upgrade of electrical substations
- Ability communicate effectively with the client with appropriate level of technical detail
- Ability to perform occasional walk-downs and visit client site to attend scoping meetings
- Experience in writing and providing support documentation for structural engineering calculations
- Must be able to complete assignments within budget and schedule with a high degree of accuracy
- Technically knowledgeable of the practical application of structural engineering including analysis for structural supports
- Technically knowledgeable of the practical application of structural engineering including loads
- Technically knowledgeable of the practical application of structural engineering including design integrity
- Experience with the design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans
- Experience with the design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of blueprints
- Experience with the design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of drawings
- Experience with the design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of models
- Proficiency with MathCad
- Proficiency with STAAD PRO
- Proficiency with SAP2000
- Proficiency with SAFE
- Proficiency with RISA 3D
- Proficiency with RISA Floor
- Familiarity with design codes and standards such as IBC
- Familiarity with design codes and standards such as ASCE 7
- Familiarity with design codes and standards such as AISC
- Familiarity with design codes and standards such as ACI 318
- Excellent written,verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Desired Qualifications
- PE license
- Experience in the design of light industrial building structures
- Programming or scripting (e.g., Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to automate calculations, design checks, reporting, or data transformation

- a minor, certificate, or other training in Artificial Intelligence
- a minor, certificate, or other training in Software Engineering
- or related fields that helps you apply automation or agentic AI to real engineering problems
