Job Summary
Structural Dynamics Engineer (II or III) sought to analyze and validate spacecraft and missile-defense structural systems across launch, on-orbit, and mission operations; perform static and dynamic stress analyses, develop and validate FEMs for dynamic behavior, and participate in vibration/shock/acoustic testing; collaborate with mechanical, thermal, and systems teams to meet structural requirements; requires expertise in FEA tools and aerospace defense contexts; onsite roles in Centennial, CO or Long Beach, CA; citizenship/clearance prerequisites apply.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in structural dynamics analysis for aerospace, defense, or high-reliability applications OR Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field (no years of working experience required)
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) tools such as FEMAP/NASTRAN or HyperWorks/OptiStruct
- Experience with dynamic environments such as launch loads, aero loads, vibration, and shock
- Good understanding of structural mechanics, material properties, and failure modes in aerospace applications
- Familiarity with spacecraft- and missile-specific structural dynamics challenges (preferred)
- Hands-on experience with environmental testing and instrumentation (accelerometers, strain gauges, data acquisition) (preferred)
- Proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks/NX) and PLM (Teamcenter) (preferred)
- Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance (as per additional requirements)
