Job Summary
Develop detailed structural drawings for residential, multifamily, and commercial projects using AutoCAD and/or Revit. Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other project team members to integrate structural systems with overall building designs. Prepare and review construction documents, including framing plans, shear wall plans, and details, while performing quality checks on technical drawings. Produce accurate finished documents following limited verbal and written directions from engineers. Review drawings for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with project standards, applying sound judgment to identify design improvements and drafting efficiencies. Manage multiple project assignments while meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of quality.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Drafting and/or Design or equivalent
- Minimum of four years' experience with five years preferred in structural drafting for multi-family and residential projects
- Minimum five years' experience in structural wood framing and shear wall drafting
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Ability to manage project asks with limited supervision
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work
- Effective written and verbal communication skills

- Experience with elevated slab systems
- Ability to coordinate across disciplines and proactively resolve design conflicts
- Strong understanding of structural building systems and construction methods
