Job Summary
Review building codes, standards, and local regulations while creating CAD drawings and calculations under engineering direction. Develop design criteria and system designs from concept to construction, coordinate distribution systems and equipment layouts, and interpret basis of design documents, field surveys, and code research. Respond to RFIs and submittals, travel to job sites to verify project details, and conduct peer reviews on other projects. Assist in equipment selection, author design specifications and BOD narratives, and attend weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly meetings to ensure timeline adherence. This role supports the Engineering team across Above Group's projects in the healthcare engineering industry, requiring a commitment to uncompromising quality and collaborative teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in computer drafting and design or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, at an MEP Engineering firm or A-E firm
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit software programs
- Proficient knowledge of BlueBeam and Microsoft Suite
- Excellent Communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks
- Comfortable with traveling (i.e., flights, car services, hotels)
- Strong work ethic, ability to work independently/self-motivated, as well as in a collaborative team setting, highly organized, and detailed-oriented
- Strong project management, strategic planning and problem-solving skills
- Able to complete complex tasks with minimal supervision
- Proficient knowledge of computers, Microsoft Suite, i.e., Outlook, Word and Excel
- Able to lift a minimum of 15-20 pounds
- Able to hear to take phone calls as well as to clearly communicate verbally
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident of the U.S.
