Structural Design Engineer

Job Summary
Conduct structural analysis to evaluate aircraft components for strength, durability, and regulatory compliance. Perform finite element modeling, static stress, fatigue, damage tolerance, thermal, and vibration analyses to validate structural designs. Develop analytical models and engineering calculations while preparing stress and substantiation reports. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Certification, and Product Support throughout the product lifecycle. Support design reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and post-delivery engineering activities to ensure adherence to customer requirements and FAA/EASA regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline
- 5–8 years of experience with a BS, 3–6 years with an MS, or 0–3 years with a PhD
- Knowledge of mechanics of materials, aircraft structures, and finite element modeling
- Experience with static, fatigue, and damage tolerance analysis
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Aerospace industry experience
- Experience supporting aircraft certification programs
- Knowledge of FAA/EASA regulations
- Experience with metallic and composite structures
- Proficiency with Nastran, Patran, HyperMesh, ANSYS, Abaqus, CATIA V5, or Siemens NX
