Job Summary
Lead the end-to-end mechanical-structure design for payload and cargo systems at Blue Origin. Serve as primary technical contact for cargo customers, translating requirements into actionable design specs, performing detailed FEA, and creating drawings/specifications. Collaborate with manufacturing, integration, and test teams to ensure smooth design-to-production handoff; requires customer-facing collaboration, leadership of design activities, and hands-on experience with structural testing and data correlation. Preferred: Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; experience leading design teams and mentoring junior engineers; proficiency with CREO and CAD/FEA tools. TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain TS/SCI is noted. Relocation is provided; compensation varies by site (CA: 145,188.00-203,263.20; CO: 133,500.00-186,898.95; WA: 145,188.00-203,263.20). Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in structural design and analysis
- Direct experience with the design of payload integration systems or similar structures
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a customer-facing role
- Proficiency in CAD and FEA software (CREO desired)
- TS/SCI Clearance or ability to attain TS/SCI
