Job Summary

Lead the design, analysis, development, testing, and qualification of structural subsystems for Blue Origin's New Glenn second stage and payload accommodations. Own hardware lifecycle from requirements through concept, design, analysis, testing, and integration onto a launch vehicle. Perform 3D modeling, detailing, and interface control; create test plans, specifications, and flight hardware documentation. Provide technical guidance for manufacturing and integration; conduct trade studies, material selection, and supplier coordination. Execute hand calculations and FEM analyses to report margins of safety for primary and secondary aerospace structures; perform load-path, skin-stringer, and sandwich panel design analyses; use CAD/FEA tools (Creo/Windchill, ANSYS, Nastran, Optistruct, LS-DYNA, HyperMesh, Hypersizer); participate in test planning, data reduction, and reporting. Collaborate cross-functionally to select materials, processes, and suppliers; develop component specifications; manage schedules and technical status; mentor engineers and drive continuous improvement. Strong communication, leadership, and a commitment to safe human spaceflight are required.
