Job Summary
Structural Engineer specializing in bridge structures responsible for analysis and design of bridge systems, development and review of plans, calculations, and specifications for construction; direct Engineers-in-Training and technicians; conduct site observations and bridge-condition assessments; develop bridge-management programs with clients; prepare reports and presentations; manage project budgets and deadlines; collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams; requires PE license and 5+ years post-graduate experience; proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Robot Structural Analysis, Bluebeam, Navisworks, AASHTOWARE; knowledgeable in AASHTO and AREMA standards; travel up to 25% across the U.S.; valid driver’s license; compensation includes base salary 75k–125k/year and standard benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Professional Engineering (PE) license
- At least five years of post-graduate experience in bridge design and inspection for highway or railway infrastructure
- Advanced knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Robot Structural Analysis, Bluebeam, Navisworks, AASHTOWARE
- Strong understanding of codes and regulations (AASHTO, AREMA)
- Familiarity with wood, steel, and concrete bridge systems
- Experience with historic bridge structures, design approaches, and construction techniques
- Knowledge of DOT and/or Class I Railway standards and bridge program formats
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel up to 25% throughout the U.S.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
