Stress Engineer - Steam Turbines (3 year FTC)

Job Summary
Conduct strength and failure analysis on steam turbine components using FEA techniques and hand calculations to assess plastic collapse, buckling, fatigue, and heat transfer. Build finite element models, write analysis plans, and identify design deficiencies to propose improvements while ensuring safe lifting procedures. Assist in weld type definitions and perform design reviews, customer presentations, and meetings to deliver technical solutions for power generation and propulsion. Report findings and present material as required for build, assembly, commissioning, and test phases. Requires SC Level security clearance and British citizenship.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in FEA packages
- Ideally Abaqus
- Ideally ANSYS
- Knowledge of ASME Codes
- Knowledge of DNV Codes
- Technical knowledge of rotating equipment
- Technical knowledge of turbines
- Security Clearance (SC Level)
- British Citizenship
- Residency in the UK for a minimum of 5 years
- Dual passport holders with an approved second country
