Job Summary
Plan and execute stress analysis activities to meet project deadlines, utilizing manual calculation methods and finite element tools like ANSYS or NASTRAN. Conduct detailed structural analyses for mechanical components and assemblies under static and dynamic loads, while investigating non-conformance issues through root cause analysis. Provide engineering solutions for design challenges and prepare technical documentation to communicate results effectively. Participate in design reviews and support ongoing product improvements within the Aerospace and Defence sector. This role requires a UK national due to security constraints and involves ensuring compliance with industry standards such as AS9100.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, NASTRAN, or similar tools)
- Strong expertise in static analysis using both numerical (finite element) and hand calculation methods
- Proven experience in analysing complex mechanical structures, assemblies, and subassemblies, including components like gears and gearboxes
- Experience working on projects within the Aerospace and Defence or heavy engineering industries
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering or a related field
- Previous experience in stress analysis, ideally within aerospace, defence, or heavy engineering industries
- This role is open to sole UK nationals due to project security requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of quality standards such as AS9100 or ISO 9001 is highly desirable
